  • Chelsea line-up v Aston Villa – Cuadrado to make his debut for Blues?

first_img Juan Cuadrado could make his Chelsea debut this weekend 1 Chelsea have the opportunity to keep Man City at arms’ length, as they take on Aston Villa this weekend.Clashes between the two usually result in goals and while star frontman Diego Costa continues to serve the remainder of his suspension, the Premier League leaders will be confident against a Villa side that has been leaking goals.Blues’ boss Jose Mourinho broke his self-imposed media silence in his pre-match press conference to lambast the continued absence of Costa, but on a more positive note, he touched on the transfer deadline day arrival of Juan Cuadrado from Fiorentina, hinting that the Colombian could be in line to make his debut at Villa Park. One player who will miss out though is full-back Filipe Luis, who is struggling with a calf injury.Cesc Fabregas is expected to return to the starting XI after overcoming the hamstring injury that saw him miss last weekend’s 1-1 draw with City, but it seems as though Gary Cahill will have to remain patient for his return, with Kurt Zouma once again tipped to start in his place.Below is how Chelsea could line-up:GoalkeeperThibaut Courtois was at fault for City’s equaliser last weekend, but admirably saved efforts from Sergio Aguero and Fernandinho around the rare error. The Belgian will learn from the experience and continues to impress on a weekly basis. The Champions League ties against Paris Saint-Germain loom later this month may encourage Mourinho to rest his number one goalkeeper, but it’s unlikely to be this weekend.DefenceGary Cahill is in danger of being eclipsed by youngster Kurt Zouma who has taken to the Premier League like a duck to water. Mourinho called the 20-year-old the best young defender in the world with Raphael Varane and he gave another fantastic performance last weekend beside captain John Terry. Brainslav Ivanovic was passed fit last weekend and delivered the pinpoint pass to Eden Hazard that cut through City’s defence for the goal. He and Cesar Azpilcueta should retain their places.MidfieldExpect Chelsea to be back at their free flowing best with Cesc Fabregas back in the side to partner Nemanja Matic. The playmaker has shaken off the hamstring injury that left the Blues weakened against City’s attacking prowess last time out. The dynamic duo with Willian, Oscar and Hazard ahead can make sure Villa aren’t afforded the same opportunities.ForwardThe Blues’ boss gave nothing away before the game, but Loic Remy’s wonderfully taken goal last weekend should earn the Frenchman another Premier League start. The striker proved his pace and quick reflexes, making him a more powerful starting asset than Didier Drogba, who has to be more pragmatic in his own approach.Chelsea fans, how do you think you’ll line-up this weekend?
